Tenuta Chiccheri is a little gem in the hills surrounding Tregnago, in the Vally of Illasi, which defines the region of Valpolicella Allargata where some of the most innovative producers of the DOC are located. It has gained prominence with a stunning Amarone and Valpolicella Superiore which are complemented by a line of bubbles Montpre’ that have been recognised and awarded for exquisite elegance and quality.

WINE: Valpolicella Superiore - Campo delle Strie

Valpolicella Superiore is made with slightly dried grapes. After the appassimento process, it is aged in French oak barrels for 24 months. It has an intense ruby red colour, pleasant perfume with aroma of red fruit and notes of cinnamon and pepper. Dry on the palate, it is elegant and persistent. It goes well with game and winged game, grilled red meat, roast meat. Perfect to taste just before the Amarone.

Chiccheri: an affable name evoking history. Chiccheri was the nickname of peasants who once lived where now sweet and delicate grapes grow. Is it a magical place? Chiccheri sounds like “chicco” (in Italian it means grape): hence the magic continues!

Every vineyard, every row of vine to every single individual vine is carefully tended so that it can produce the best fruits possible. Day after day nature and man humbly do their job which concludes in August when harvest starts and continues until the end of October.
